The Science of Kriya Yoga

These nonsectarian teachings embody a complete philosophy and way of life for achieving all-round success and well-being, as well as methods of meditation for achieving life’s ultimate goal — union of the soul with Spirit (God).

The best-selling Autobiography of a Yogi not only provides inspiring insights into the lives of Yogananda and other saints, but also introduces the reader

to the ancient into the thought processes of the ancient yoga teachings.

And it sheds light

SRF Lessons

The Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons were compiled under the guidance of Paramahansa Yogananda from his writings and from his numerous talks and lectures.

They contain detailed instructions on the concentration and meditation techniques taught by Paramahansa Yogananda as well as the preparatory charging exercises for the body. After practicing these basic techniques for some time, one can ask for initiation into Kriya Yoga, an advanced yogic pranayama technique.

In addition to his detailed instructions on meditation, the teachings offer practical advice on all aspects of spiritual life - to live joyfully and successfully in this world of change amidst ever-changing challenges and opportunities.

Monastic Order and Leadership

In accord with its founder’s wishes, the work of Self-Realization Fellowship is guided by the monastic order that Paramahansa Yogananda established along the lines of the ancient swami tradition of India. The monks and nuns of SRF take formal vows of renunciation; and are responsible for serving the spiritual needs of Self-Realization Fellowship members and friends around the world.
